Botanical garden of Gambarogno
This magnificent botanic garden is found for the Gambarogno-side of Lake Maggiore, over a plain within the hills between Piazzogna and Vairano.
In this place, Otto Eisenhut, a patient and talented cultivator of plants and trees, cultivated a large number of beautiful and vibrant flowering plants like 950 types of camelias, 450 different magnolias, azaleas, peonies and Rhododendron on the surface of more than 20’000 m2.
In addition, here grows also ivy, pines, juniper and other rare European and exotic coniferous trees.

Further down, a couple of meters out of the arrival station from the cable car a footbridge was built which winds its way across the tops of the trees in the woods below. From this unusual scenic promontory you are able to admire the river, the Centovalli and elements of the Maggia Valley.
