The cast of characters are settling looking their new situations. They are that nothing much should be happening to upset that world, yet, they’re surprisingly wrong.
This tale of innuendo, gossip, lies, misdirection and intrigue discovers authentically as being a comedy of errors and misinformation. The premise is not hard enough and just subtle enough use a good base.
Ma Foster provides housing on her behalf “girls,” Bella, Chloe and Kitty. Currently the three in residence are missing. Ma produces a big problem over it. She even travels to the neighborhood newspaper when the local police do not act on her fears. She does bring in the out-of-work detective, the modern editor of the local newspaper and last but not least the town itself.
The central character is Henrietta, who was named following your town under consideration, Henryetta, Oklahoma. Henrietta offers quite a bit opting for her nowadays, she’s gone after the top city, OKC, OK and landed a job using the local t.v. station. Of course this will not help your journalistic career, it does get her in the heart of Classified Ads and events of the afternoon. The usual players for Henryetta are Wynona Sue, Henrietta’s hairdresser mother stars in the “reality” show, see later. Her husband, Professor LeHough, a local bug expert is bald coming from a surprise shaving. Rodney, Henrietta’s boyfriend, camera man buddy and overall closest friend is pulled and tugged by Henrietta and her immediate boss Miss Peg. Harold Mixon, the owner and editor emeritus of the local weekly newspaper, just lately put on the internet is attempting to possess a pleasant and quiet Labor Day weekend with his friends at the International Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.).
The other main characters are Gigi Carpenter, a feminist reporter turned editor of the local newspaper. Max (Maximo) Morgan a would-be gum shoe private detective using a penchant for old murder mysteries, especially Dashiel Hammet’s “Fat Man” tales. Then Deano DeBoffo because the “reality” show director attempting to shot an airplane pilot to get a new show. Finally, Shatner Lapp, as being a newsman, publisher, editor and all-round classic boy, involves town to assist in his Princeton buddy’s newspaper problems.
Once these folks become involved in the gossip laden townsfolk, the misinformation flies. With increased rumors then your facts probably warrant, the three missing girls are more plus much more objects of speculation and intrigue while very little factual details are given. The rumors start mild because the missing girls are only searched by Ma and Maximo.
These rumors and gossip finally run up to a major “reporter war” between Shat and Gigi. The misinformation here becomes the avalanche cascading within the news and so the townspeople.
