Remember when going back to school meant getting a few notebooks, a fresh box of crayons, and new shoes? In the event you wore a uniform to high school, you almost certainly got one of those too; or even, you have a few new outfits. That has been it.


Well, times have changed. The provision list now contains items which was once furnished by the schools – like scissors, glue and tissues. Every child wants a new backpack, notebooks, paper, pens (red, blue and black), glue sticks, ruler, tape, scissors, markers, folders plus a calculator. In case you have two children and also you shop the sales, you may still end up paying out greater than $100.00 in supplies alone. And that doesn’t even count the modern clothes your child “has to have” or even the fees which are needed for art projects, lab costs, etc.

2) Re-use – Kids believe last year’s backpack has got to go, but a quick trip over the automatic washer might give it new life.

3) Reduce – Does your son or daughter use a notebook from recently containing three pages of written material inside it and 77 blank pages left? Did you find this notebook within the bin – or worse – the garbage? Might be a fun time to talk about waste and keeping it down by letting one of the most use possible of all the item.
