Photographing Children’s Parties

In a children’s party, a parent takes photos from the main events: blowing your candles, eating cake, and opening presents. Having your camera handy during the entire event will help you capture special unexpected moments. While it’s good to videotape at the house party, staying alert for perfect still camera images will preserve moments with time that may last in your memory.

For “standard” expected shots take plenty of photos to actually capture the ideal moment. For instance, try and catch the infant’s cheeks puffed out as the smoke wafts from your candles around the cake. I generally capture around ten images to document one special moment like the cake being brought to the table, the tiny girl sticking her fingers inside the icing, waiting to blow out the candles, and then the big moment of creating a wish and blowing. This creates a nice photo documentation of the event, but in addition served to capture the ideal moment.

Children are very excited on their own birthdays. They play examining everything. Keep your eyes open for unexpected or quiet moments once the child is alone taking all things in and exploring.

Capturing action is yet another great way to capture memories. Possess the camera handy to get a lively bet on duck-duck-goose or tag. When capturing action, I strive to become part of it. Kids usually love coming toward me to acquire their pictures taken. At one party, the children raced inside the steps and zipped into meet me at the bottom of the McDonald’s slide continuously to have their pictures done.

Parties can be created to add picture taking opportunities. Beyond any type of party, you are able to hold tea parties, princess parties, and Halloween parties that encourage kids to wear up in cute outfits. Encourage parents to dress up too and place their photos while they arrive. One successful portrait party I hosted would be a mother daughter tea. The camera was set on a tripod pointed in a chair close to the entry way in addition to being soon as people arrived these folks were seated and photographed.
