Little Alchemy is a game of trial and error.
It’s free, and it’s available for iPhone and Android (through Google Play); you may also play online.
The rules of play are pretty straight forward. Beginning from four elements: air, earth, fire, and water, which appear as icons in your screen. By adding any two elements together, you get another “element,” that might or will not be combinable therefore. Elements are added by dragging one over another, at which either nothing happens (since they don’t make new things), or perhaps a new icon appears of their place. You can an element to itself; air + air = pressure, as an example. You’ll find 560 items you could make, plus one bonus item (that i found about halfway through.) You’ll end up dropping and dragging when you use a short while to spare, seeking to create yet another element.
The screen shows the sun and rain you’ve already made on the right; the left side from the screen is made for combining elements. A counter at the bottom tells you the number of elements you’ve created from the potential 560. (The screenshot was apparently taken within the earlier iteration of the game, when only 500 elements may be created.) You’ll be able to set the library to demonstrate either all of the elements you’ve created, or merely the ones that can be combined; “final elements” are the end in the road and can’t be employed to create additional factors. You can also opt to have final elements underlined, to help you tell them apart. “Flood” in the screenshot is a final element.
