Travelling from your lower mainland of BC on the magnificent Vancouver Island, travellers have several alternatives on getting there, depending of course on where they need to be when they land on this tropical isle. We’ve sailed on BC Ferries from Tsawassan Terminal to Swartz Bay, when i wanted to look at the Capital City of Victoria and last week, I sailed from Horseshoe Bay onto Duke Point in Nanaimo as that was my chosen spot for that particular trip. For occasions I need to claim that I found the Ferries to be great value. All of them are very comfortable, well equipped and basically have something for anyone to pass through time throughout the two hour trip.
For many who want to get there faster or maybe can be a somewhat more affluent, you can choose from a variety of small float planes which fly continually back and forth to various destinations about the Island. For any somewhat more money, you may even decide to fly by helicopter if that is what makes you tick. For me, the idea of a short sea voyage in itself offers a thrill and of course, some subdued thoughts with the famous Titanic on its fateful maiden voyage. Seriously, we’ve got advanced dramatically in technology since days gone by and BC Ferries certainly are a sound demonstration of modern maritime engineering. En-route for the Island by ferry, there are many sights to view and lots of pictures worthy of taking together with your digicam. To the lucky travellers, it is apparently a regular occurrence to find out a faculty of Whales as they travel down involving the Gulf Islands and also the Georgia Straight en route to remote places. No doubt it is an awesome place and in my humble opinion, it may somewhat be just a little bit of heaven in the world.
