Kentucky Fried Chicken Shifts to KFC

The story about why Kentucky Fried Chicken, founded by Harland Sanders, changes it name to KFC would be to get rid of the word “fried” in it’s name. The word “fried” has negative connatations like being unhealthy, having high-cholesterol, causing obesity and more. Therefore, just as one effort to rebrand themselves as being a healthier family restaurant that caters for people of all ages, including health conscious people, Kentucky Fried Chicken renamed itself as KFC.

Version Two: America fda standards reviewed the operations of Kentucky Fried Chicken and located out your they are rearing genetically modified chickens, with extra huge breasts and extra legs to reap the meat from(the amount differs from 4 to 6). The US food declares the creatures can’t be marketed as “chickens” and Kentucky Fried Chicken, unwilling to lose a real lucrative operation to stick to the principles, decided to change its name to KFC instead to reduce the phrase “chicken”.

The reality is that Kentucky Fried Chicken decides to alter its name would be to not pay back license fees towards the condition of Kentucky. In 1990, ky decides to trademark their name, so that you can reduce their accumulating debts. As a result, Kentucky Fried Chicken have to pay a sum of money on the state for utilizing “Kentucky”.

Obviously, they may be hesitant to simply because they was using it for up to 40 years(they pointed in the 1950s) and refused to pay for such royalties goods principle. After much negotiations, they were unable to budge the federal government stance and so thought we would change their name instead of paying. This coincides with all the rebranding campaign as mentioned earlier and everything ended up well.

Evidence that suggests until this version is true is many events and businesses had also changed their name to reduce the word “Kentucky”. The examples are the most well-known horse race in United states, formerly referred to as “Kentucky Derby” changes to “The run for the roses”, the company of seeds and nursery outfits “Kentucky Bluegrass” changes to “Shenandoah Bluegrass” along with the song “Kentucky Woman” by Neil Diamond was dropped from the air at their own request because he would shed more pounds money for make payment on state of Kentucky royally than what he receive from the station.
